Introduction to my AS Media Studies blog

NO ONE SHOP AT TESCOS I HEARD ITS FULLA WANK AND TOO OVER PRICED

Welcome to my AS Media Blog!
This blog is for my AS media studies coursework 2015, the brief is focusing on Film Production, moving image where we’ve been tasked to produce titles and an opening sequence for a new fiction film, on this blog I’ve included page tabs of what I’ve worked on and typed up in order to have created this thriller opening. By the end, I’m aiming to get B/A overall for the AS year so in order to achieve this I know that I have to work hard by building up this blog of all the relevant information that I need in order to obtain this desired grade. All ideas and work found on this blog has been done over the AS media course, class notes and individual research for the thriller coursework brief. Everything on this blog has been done and created by me with the exception of producing the thriller opening sequence where I've worked in a group so tasks there have been spilt evenly and fairly.

On this blog you will find our main tasks which show:

Preliminary Task
This set work was to focus on a scenario in which we had to pick a scenario and produce a short preliminary video to showcase our groups video production skills. Our group had to use the software program Adobe Premiere to edit the scenes and use appropriate video and audio equipment to film our sequence.
The following three scenarios were:
1) You're Fired! - Character A is called into the bosses office out of the blue to receive some bad news about their job.
2) Blind Date - Character A is waiting for their blind date to arrive.
3) What's up Doc? - Character A pays a visit to the Doctors.
The purpose of this preliminary task was to allow the group to practise our video production skills and to give us an opportunity to experiment with the equipment and software before our assessed piece.
It must of included the following techniques:
1) 180 Degree Rule             6) White Balance
2) Shot Reverse Shot          7) Focus Pull
3) Match on Action              8) A film Noir scene
4) Eye line Match
5) Cutaway/Insert

Main Task, Final Assessed Piece
The main task was to create a thriller sequence opening lasting between 2-5 minutes, this will be our final assessed piece and will be a big contribution towards our coursework mark.
We are to produce titles along with the opening sequence and will be marked individually based on our own contribution towards the group and the evidence provided on this blog consisting of research, planning, production and a correctly formatted evaluation.
